A FEVER DREAM IN A CROWDED BASEMENT - A CLAUSTROPHOBIC COLLISION OF HAUNTING MELODIES AND WALL-SHAKING NOISE

Irvine are a Cork four-piece with one foot in a haze of reverb and the other in a mess of distortion.

Pulling from shoegaze, grunge, folk-rock and ambient music, they mix washed-out guitars, crooked cowboy riffs, restless drums and dual vocals into something dreamy and abrasive.

The band draws from a wide range of influences, from shoegaze pillars like Slowdive and MBV, to folk-rock artists like Neil Young. The band lulls their audience with guitar-pedal ambience owed to Brian Eno before rocking the room with aggressive rock drawing comparisons to Pixies and PJ Harvey.

Both harmony and noise collide in Irvine’s live set. Surrealist lyrics and rattling guitars pull the listener into their atmosphere; churning bass and drums move the room.

Formed in Cork in 2024, Irvine have quickly become a fixture of the city’s live circuit, playing extensively at home, supporting established acts and headlining shows across Cork, Galway and Dublin.
